Cute stay in central colonial beach
Felt like staying in your aunts house without the family. Very private. We saw no one the entire time. We loved the antique bed, very plush and comfortable! We walked to dinner and the beach easily. Enjoyed jazz at the brewery next door. Had coffee on front porch.

Super cute Inn and rooms!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Tides Inn. The building looks like it's been preserved as well as possible while bringing more modern amenities to the rooms. The only suggestions I have would be that it was warm/humid in the room during the day and if possible (not sure if this even exists, lol) but something to keep the shower curtains from touching you while in the cast iron tub/shower. Not sure if the being warm is due to the intensity of the heat the day we checked in (temp was better, even got a lil chilly once sun went down) and the building being more historic, or if the ac needs a tune-up. Something to be aware of if you're sensitive to the heat/humidity. Would book again though, the room was so cute! I would also suggest (if this info is known, and the pictures are of local people/places) to offer some info on the pictures on the walls, they were interesting!

little get away
My 10 yr old son and I went and had a little get away in colonial beach for two nights. The TIDES INN (not to be confused with the other tides inn in Irvington VA) was a lovely little spot in an excellent location. Walkable to all things. The rooms are really beautiful and the beds comfortable. Its clear they are trying to renovate a very old building, bit by bit, but I think when its all done, it will be super nice. We had a little trouble with the keyless entry and I called the number for support and Julia helped us right away, so it was a non-issue. I will say I am a bit of a snob when it comes to bed and breakfast places, and I really thought the room was great, clean and quiet. The only thing I would change is the continental breakfast options, for one- too much plastic and waste, it just feels better to use real utensils and dishes. Also, I would add some more protein and hot options, like hard boiled eggs or sausage or maybe home made muffins (I don't know how many rooms they will have open but its easy to whip up 2 dozen muffins) We don't like to eat a lot of processed food so the food lion brand cookies and cakes were a turn off. I did see some yummy looking croissants the second day and I was grateful for the fruit!

Wonderful three day weekend! Room was immaculately clean. The bed was super comfortable and breakfast was delicious.
I will definitely stay there again.
